It’s amazing how a single, off hand comment in an E3 preview article can give birth to such a great deal of anticipation and speculation. I have to believe VG24/7 knew exactly what they were doing when they inserted a throwaway comment about Sony announcing a partnership with a major player in cloud gaming at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo like a bomb into a boilerplate preview. It wasn’t until the rumor was already burning up NeoGAF and other gaming forums that the kernel was published as a stand alone rumor. Despite having so little to go on, gamers across[…]
Recognize a familiar face? It would seem a certain Kevin Butler busies himself as a Promise Keeper running Purity Balls evenings and weekends. That, or he guest starred in this week’s episode of the Showtime series Shameless.
A couple days ago I was a little bored and thinking about fansites. I wondered, “are there any NGP/PSP2 targeted fan sites yet?” In my search I ran across one, but it literally had not been updated since the day after the systems original reveal and exists to be google-bait. I thought to myself, “I can do much better” so I set about building my own NGP fansite. You can now see the fruits of those labors at NGP.GamerBlahhhg.com. You might wonder if this is all some cynical attempt to get in on the ground floor, become the defacto NGP[…]
After Microsoft’s dismal showing yesterday, Sony seemed poised to pour on the heat, gaining even more momentum as the 360’s image was repurposed for a casual market. While Sony wasn’t able to really wow anyone with their exceedingly long showcase, they managed to avoid any real traps. Over two hours they cover a lot of ground, including new PS3 games, a new marketing push for PSP, the new PSN+ service, but perhaps more noticible were the things that did not make an appearance… Before the event, a lot of the worry was that Sony would spend the entire show on[…]
You may have noticed every gaming blog in the world publishing five or six stories today in rapid succession to discuss the US videogame sales figures from March. This can mean only one thing: the NPD figures are out! The PS3 had perhaps its best month ever for software sales thanks to strong performance from God of War III, the PS3 SKUs of FFXIII and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and MLB: The Show 2010. The 360 managed to maintain a slight edge over the PS3 in hardware sales, though ongoing PS3 shortages likely helped there. Nintendo destroyed everyone, but that’s[…]
Welcome to the latest in our long running, fan favorite and potentially future award winning series of exclusive blind reviews. Today we’ll be looking at God of War III, a PS3 exclusive developed by Sony’s Santa Monica studio scheduled for release on March 16th, 2010. Without further ado, or the benefit of having played even a second of the game, here are our thoughts. God of War III: Kamp Kouncilor Kratos As everyone knows, at the end of God of War II for the PS2 Kratos activated a super-weapon built by Archimedes, called the Mountain Fire, that killed every last[…]
